An Experience How electric current generates a strong magnetic field?

the goal:

We determine the relationship between the polarity of the field and the direction of the current.

We also explain the relationship between the intensity of the electric current and the strength of the magnetic field.

Materials and tools:

Cardboard - Iron nail - Ammeter - Battery - Electrical switch - Compass - Electric wire conductor - Spoon

Steps:

Close the electrical switch and observe the movement of the compass near the insulated wire.

Replace the battery connection wires, close the electrical switch again, and observe what happens.

Place an iron nail on the white paper around the wire.

Close the electrical switch and observe what happens.

Increase the current intensity using the switch next to the battery, and reposition the iron nail. Observe what happens.

Note:

We observe the movement of the compass needle when an electric current flows through the wire.

We notice that the compass needle's movement is reversed when we switch the battery connection wires.

We observe the formation of a magnetic field that affects the formation of iron nail in a circular shape around the wire.

The shape of the magnetic field on the iron nail becomes more defined and faster with an increase in electric current intensity.

Conclusion:

We conclude that the strength of the magnetic field increases with an increase in the electric current flowing through the wire.
